About this game

Cool Columns drops groups of three pieces into a narrow board. Align at least three identical colours or elements horizontally, vertically or diagonally to remove them. Pieces above a cleared space then fall, which can create another match.

Left and Right move the column. Up or A cycles its contents upward, while keypad 5 or Z cycles them downward. This changes the order of the pieces; it does not turn the whole column sideways. Down accelerates the fall. Escape opens a quit confirmation that also pauses play.

Difficulty changes the number of different elements, while the starting level changes falling speed. The manual awards points for removed pieces without a separate chain-reaction bonus. Start slowly and watch all three directions for possible matches.
