About this game
Zeroth Zone is a horizontally scrolling shooter inspired by Scramble. Navigate six landscapes containing missiles, asteroids and other hazards to reach the end of the zeroth zone. You begin with three ships, and losing one restarts the zone where you crashed.
The version 1.2 readme makes an important distinction from its arcade inspiration: fuel tanks must be collected by touching them with the ship. Shooting a fuel tank does not refill your supply. Keep an eye on fuel and plan a safe approach before the tank runs low.
The arrow keys move the ship, Space fires the forward weapon and Ctrl drops bombs. Firing and bombing are separate actions, so learn both while navigating the terrain. The package's release history dates this version to August 1999, following the first stable release earlier that year.
