About this game
Alpha Man combines a word puzzle with a sliding-block board. Move each letter onto its matching target on a 7-by-11 grid. A pushed letter keeps sliding until it meets another block or the edge, so a target square alone will not stop it. The green master block behaves differently: it moves one square per push and can become a temporary stop for another piece.
The included ALPHAMAN.DOC identifies William Soleau's version 1.1 from 1992 and describes 25 word puzzles. On first use, the game asks for a personal score card to track moves, attempts and solved puzzles.
Arrow keys move Alpha Man. If one push ruins a position, T takes back the last move, but it is only a single-move undo. For the first five puzzle words, O shows a solution demonstration. Watching the first example is a useful way to learn how the master block changes a letter's stopping point.
