About this game
Cosmic Ambush is a space shooter whose manual sets a target of surviving 31 levels. Destroyed enemies sometimes leave flashing pickups that can supply weapons, shield energy, lives, extra firepower or faster shots. Survival also means knowing when to stop firing: the status bar tracks weapon heat and flashes an overheat warning when a weapon is used too much.
Use Up and Down to move through the main menu and Enter to select. The menu includes keyboard and joystick choices; select keyboard to use the bindings shown here. An introductory sequence can be skipped with Escape, Space or Enter.
During play, the arrow keys move the ship, Right Ctrl fires and AltGr is the documented smartbomb key. Watch the bomb count before relying on that attack. P pauses and resumes the action. Escape quits, so it is not a substitute for the pause key when you need a moment to read the status bar.
