About this game
Game (Boy) of Life turns Conway's cellular automaton into a small Game Boy drawing experiment. You create a pattern of living cells and then let the simulation evolve it. The opening arrangement spells out LIFE, giving you an immediate pattern to alter or clear before making your own.
While editing, move the cursor with the arrows and press X, the Game Boy A button, to toggle the selected cell. Z maps to B and switches automatic simulation on or off. Stop automatic mode before editing again. Enter maps to Start and clears the living cells while you are in edit mode, so use it only when you want to begin a new pattern.
Try a small cluster first, watch several generations, then stop and change one cell. Comparing two nearby patterns is an easy way to see how a small edit changes their behaviour.
