About this game

Helicopter Mission puts you in the cockpit of a helicopter for a sequence of flying assignments. Its German instructions describe carrying cargo or parachutists, searching for injured people and returning to the starting pad once an assignment is complete. Different helicopters carry different loads and handle differently.

The arrows control horizontal flight: Up accelerates forward, Down slows the helicopter and eventually reverses it, and Left or Right turns. Hold Alt with Down to climb or with Up to descend. Space operates the pickup or release of cargo and parachutists. P pauses and Escape aborts the mission.

Read the briefing before taking off. Wind affects the helicopter, and the cockpit includes a wind indicator and an altitude display. That altitude indicator turns white when the minimum height for releasing a load is reached. Aim deliveries at the marked target circles, then return to the H landing mark; the starting pad also provides fuel. Rescue rafts can drift and may hold more than one casualty.
