About this game
Oilcap is a race to build a pipeline before oil reaches the end of the route. The board has eight rows and eleven columns, with a starting outlet, a countdown and a queue of four pipe pieces. The next available shape will not always fit the route you had in mind.
Left-click the fourth, rightmost pipe in the queue, then click an available board square to place it. A cross or bend needs to join the existing openings correctly. You can keep building after the oil starts moving, but you cannot place over an oil-filled pipe, the starting outlet or a blocked square. Follow the score target shown for the current level.
This is the 7.1 DOS shareware revision from April 1996. The included manual traces version 1.0 to January 1988. Click or press Enter at the opening prompt, and use P to pause when you need a break. This game requires mouse placement; arrow keys do not move a paddle or place pipes. A desktop mouse is the recommended way to play.

Quick tips
Only the fourth pipe in the queue is ready to pick up; look ahead at the other three shapes.
Build outward from the outlet instead of scattering pieces that the oil may never reach.
Watch both the countdown and the level’s score target; starting a long path is not the same as completing it.
