About this game
Paratrooper II is AS-Freegames' DOS shooting game built with DIV Games Studio. A fixed gun stands beneath waves of helicopters, which cross the screen and release paratroopers. Your task is to aim into the sky and shoot while watching the troops descend towards the ground.
Use the mouse to click Start game on the opening menu. Once the battlefield appears, use Left and Right to rotate the gun, and hold Up to fire. Turning changes the angle of the barrel; the turret itself stays in place. Watch the direction of the visible projectiles when lining up the next aircraft.
The opening screen also offers a 2-player game and keeps separate displays for the current score, the highest score ever and the highest score in the current session. Start with the single-player game to learn the aiming and firing controls. The menu includes a reset highscore option, so take care to choose Start game when beginning another attempt.
This is the English package of the game. The gun sits near the bottom of its 800 by 600 playfield, with aircraft approaching from both sides. Short aiming adjustments help you track an approaching helicopter without swinging past it. Holding Up produces a stream of shots, so you can keep firing while changing the angle.
