About this game
Poof is Eclipse’s mouse-driven peg-solitaire game. Its cross-shaped board sits beneath an animated logo, with stars and music surrounding the puzzle. The bundled documentation identifies this copy as version 1.11, dated February 1995; the first release was in October 1994.
Select a coloured peg with the left mouse button, then click an empty hole two positions away in the same row or column. A legal move jumps over the peg between the two holes and removes it. Aim to leave one peg: the opening two-peg layout displays LEVEL CLEAR after its single successful jump.
Click LEVEL on the right to change the layout, or START to reset it. A larger arrangement needs planning because a peg with no neighbour to jump over can become stranded. Move the pointer onto the intended hole before clicking, and use a second, separate click for the destination. The original package includes its short version history and credits alongside the game.
