About this game
Boppin is a puzzle game presented as a small arcade stage. Accursed Toys developed it and Apogee distributed the DOS release in 1994. Instead of fighting the monsters trapped inside the patterns, you try to free them by arranging and removing blocks.
Walk over a block source to pick one up. Hold the action button with a direction to aim, then release the action button while still holding the direction to throw diagonally. Matching blocks disappear when they meet; completing particular patterns frees a captive monster. A mismatched collision costs a life.
The original keyboard defaults use the arrow keys for movement and Space for the primary action button. You can ride elevators with Up and Down, and hold Space with Up to call an elevator toward your side. Esc opens an in-game menu with the original save, load and restart commands. The main menu’s Instructions explains the block rules with diagrams.
This page provides the original DOS 1.1 shareware episode from Apogee. Choose Play Boppin and the first episode, Bothersome Hunnybunz. Other episode names in the menu are not a promise that the registered chapters are included.

Quick tips
For a throw, release Space before releasing the direction. Centering the direction first cancels the aim.
