About this game
Mines is a text exploration game whose cave is generated from the number you choose at the start. The same number produces the same layout, making it possible to draw a map and improve your route. Read each room description for exits, objects and obstacles.
Your goal is to visit all the rooms and return the treasures to the entrance while keeping the move count down. Commands are single letters followed by Enter: compass directions move between rooms, C carries an object and I checks your inventory. Carrying the appropriate object can let you overcome an obstacle.
This is James L. Dean’s DOS version 1.1, released on 24 February 2007, following the 2006 DOS release and an earlier 1979 BASIC game. The supplied C source permits use and distribution without payment. The game itself remains in English; the guidance here explains its commands.

Quick tips
Type a mine number such as 1, then Enter. Read the listed exits before choosing a direction.
Type C to carry an object, I to inspect inventory, and L to leave treasure at the entrance. Confirm each command with Enter.
P reports your score and exploration progress. H lists commands; O offers help getting out of the mine.
