About this game
MVP Bridge brings contract bridge to DOS with a graphical table and computer-controlled players. You play the South hand, choose bids from a panel and select a card when prompted. The original documentation explains bidding, conventions, following suit and how the declarer and dummy hands work. It is intended for players learning or practising bridge, rather than a simplified matching-card game.
The shareware version provides Rubber Bridge. Choose Play, then Rubber to deal. Click the appropriate bid or Pass on your turn; once a contract is agreed, click a legal card from your hand. Press H for a suggested bid or play. The Kibitz option can reveal other hands for practice, so leave it off if you want the information limits of a normal game.
This is the original DOS 3.03 evaluation by Steve Estvanik/Cascoly Software, published by MVP Software. Its license specifies a thirty-day trial. Duplicate Bridge, Chicago scoring and saved/custom hands belong to the Deluxe edition and are not included here. A mouse is recommended for the small bid and card targets; the original game and its documentation remain in English.
