About this game
PC*Bert turns a pyramid of cubes into a jumping puzzle. Landing on a cube changes its colour, and the aim is to bring the board to its required state while avoiding the creatures moving through it. A careless step at an edge can send the character off the pyramid.
JROK's included document identifies version 1.01, dated November 15, 1997. The developer's game page also identifies that version and shows its pursuing enemies and escape spinners. This is a DOS recreation with its own keyboard layout.
The four default keys describe diagonals, not ordinary up, down, left and right movement: A hops up-left, Z down-left, apostrophe up-right and slash down-right. Learn those four directions near the middle of the board before moving to the edges. Escape ends the current game and exits when used at the title screen. On a non-US keyboard, the punctuation-key positions may take a little attention.
