About this game
Discrete Orange is Tardigrade’s puzzle-platformer built around movement in distinct steps. The archived title identifies v0.1b, Demo #2. The author’s changelog says this edition contains the same ten levels as the first GBA Jam 2024 demo, with an updated engine. The later commercial release has a different feature set and is not the build hosted here.
Press X at the title to start. Use Left and Right to move and X to jump. Hold Z to display translucent positions around the orange: this ghost view helps you plan the next move. Q and E move the camera left and right so you can inspect platforms beyond the current view. Try the ghost view and camera together before committing to a jump.
Enter opens a menu with Respawn, Next Level and Quit Game. Use Up and Down to choose an option and X to confirm. Respawn returns you to the beginning of the current stage, while Next Level lets you move on when a puzzle has you stuck. The first stage provides open ground for experimenting with the movement system before the ledges and gaps demand more careful planning.
