About this game

Turbo sends you along a two-lane road with slow traffic ahead and vehicles approaching from the opposite direction. Passing a car earns a 250-point bonus, and faster driving adds more points. Every 10,000 points grants another minute of play.

Doug Ross's version 1.0 instructions assign Shift to the throttle. Hold it to accelerate, then press Up to change into second gear once first gear reaches its limit. Down changes back to first. Left and Right steer; the manual says a press is enough, rather than requiring the arrows to be held.

There is no brake control. Release Shift to slow gradually, or downshift while holding the throttle for a sharper reduction from second gear. Those controls make this different from a racer where Up accelerates. Practise changing gears before trying to pass a line of traffic with an oncoming car nearby.
