About this game
xniq is a Game Boy Advance puzzle game inspired by CROSSNIQ. You work with a board of coloured tiles, shifting entire rows or columns instead of swapping two neighbouring pieces. The basic goal is to form a single-colour cross: one complete horizontal line intersecting one complete vertical line.
Press Enter at the title to begin. Use the arrow keys to position the cursor. Hold X while pressing an arrow to grab and slide the selected row or column; release X to move the cursor without shifting tiles. A move affects a whole line, so check the tiles at both ends before sliding it.
The version here identifies itself as v0.1 alpha from the 2021 jam period. The official project page also describes newer releases; these instructions cover the archived alpha and its basic sliding controls.
