About this game
Bio Menace puts Snake Logan on the streets of Metro City, where a reconnaissance mission turns into a fight against mutated creatures and armed machines. The side-scrolling stages mix shooting with ladders, locked doors, switches and people waiting to be rescued.
Your rifle fires in the direction Snake faces. Grenades provide a separate attack, while keys and switches open paths through the level. Look above and below the current screen before committing to a jump: the route is not always a straight run to the right.
Choose episode 1, 2 or 3 in the opening launcher, then start a new game from that episode’s menu. The default controls are Left and Right to move, Ctrl to jump, Alt to fire and Enter to throw a grenade. Up interacts with doors, items and switches; Up and Down also climb ladders.
This is the DOS 1.1 game first published by Apogee Software in 1993, with all three episodes included in the December 2005 freeware release: Dr. Mangle’s Lab, The Hidden Lab and Master Cain. The original files and the later freeware release notice are retained. Menus and in-game text remain in English.

Quick tips
Start with episode 1 to follow the story in order. On a phone, the extra keyboard also provides the 2 and 3 episode-selection keys.
Face the target before firing. Save grenades for situations where the rifle is awkward to use.
Stand in front of a door or switch and press Up. Some doors require a golden key.
