About this game
Christmas Carnage is a deliberately gruesome holiday shooting gallery by John Dondzila. The packaged program identifies itself as version 1.1. A turret stays at the bottom while holiday characters cross the screen; the aim is to hit targets before they escape. The cartoon violence is part of the game’s original presentation.
The opening instructions assign Ctrl and Alt to aiming left and right, with the left and right Shift keys offered as alternatives. Space fires. Ammunition is unlimited, but the original rules end the round once more than ten characters have escaped. The hit and escaped counters matter more than simply keeping the fire button held.
As you hit more targets, additional characters appear and the screen becomes harder to cover. Sweep the turret toward targets that are close to leaving rather than repeatedly aiming at the same spot. Allow the sound and music loading messages to finish before expecting the title and instruction screens to respond.
