About this game
Commander Keen 4: Secret of the Oracle is the 1991 platform adventure developed by id Software and distributed by Apogee Software. Keen explores the Shadowlands, searching for Council Members while crossing forests, caves and other hazardous places. It is episode four in the Keen series and the first episode of Goodbye, Galaxy!
The overhead map connects the stages. Move onto an entrance and press Ctrl to enter. Within a stage, Ctrl jumps, Alt toggles the pogo stick and Space fires the Neural Stunner. The pogo reaches higher but takes more care to control; press Alt again when you want to stop bouncing.
Up enters doors and operates switches, while Up and Down also climb poles or reveal more of the scene. When hanging from an edge, press toward the ledge or Up to pull yourself onto it. A colored gem opens its matching holder when you walk up to it. Finish a stage by reaching its exit or finding its Council Member.
This is the original EGA DOS 1.4 shareware release of Secret of the Oracle. It is not the CGA edition and does not include Keen 5. F1 opens the illustrated manual, and Esc opens the game menu.
