About this game
Przygody Krzysia is The Legend, Inc.'s Polish-language DOS platform puzzle. The archived program identifies itself as the full 1.0 release from 1999, with an unregistered-copy notice. Its developer changelog describes the addition of doors, keys, diamonds and new maps. The opening stage, Wejscie do Zamku, places Krzys near the top of a castle room filled with ladders, ledges, locked doors and hazards.
Press Enter at the startup prompt and continue past the stage introduction. Left and Right move Krzys along the platforms. Line up with a ladder before using Up or Down to climb: standing beside it is not enough. The energy bar and row of character icons stay at the bottom of the screen. Look over the room before stepping off a ledge, and note where keys and diamonds sit relative to the available ladders.
V displays the small colour-coded map over the lower part of the screen; C hides it again. F1 opens a text console. To see the original key list, type game_keys and press Enter, then type exit and press Enter to return to play. This console is described by the developer as an editing and testing tool, so it is optional for normal movement. F10 leaves the level and begins the closing credits. The game text remains in Polish; these instructions describe the tested opening controls rather than a translated edition.
