About this game

Roomz is a compact maze game inspired by the author's early programming experiments. Collect exclamation marks until the whistle sounds, then find the door to leave. Shots and bombs are useful supplies for later mazes, where monsters teleport more frequently.

The packaged manual is for version 3.0, dated 8 August 2000. Its number-pad layout is unusual: 8 moves up, 5 moves down, 4 and 6 move sideways, and 2 stops. Enable Num Lock. Numpad 0 drops a bomb and Numpad + shoots, but shooting requires you to be moving.

Monsters cannot follow onto oasis patches, making them useful places to stop and plan. Bombs cannot be used at the extreme edges of a maze, and the guide recommends saving a reserve for uncovering exits.
