About this game
Dungeon Tactics Advance is Tapir Games’ turn-based dungeon crawler for the Game Boy Advance. You enter a dungeon from the Dungeon Crawler’s Dream inn and fight on small tiled battlefields. Health, movement points and action points appear across the top of the screen. Defeating a group leads to an equipment choice before the next fight, so the items you keep affect the rest of your run.
Press Enter at the title and use X to advance the opening screens. In combat, Q and E cycle through weapons, spells, the boot icon for movement, and the question-mark icon for inspecting creatures. Move the cursor with the arrow keys and press X to perform the selected action. Blue tiles show available targets or movement destinations; check the displayed cost before committing.
Enter ends your turn and restores your action and movement allowances after the enemies act. Tab opens the abandon-run menu; choose Cancel if you intend to continue. Use the inspection tool when meeting an unfamiliar creature, and remember that moving away from an adjacent enemy can cost extra points. The archived title screen identifies the 2024 release; the original manual explains the combat and equipment systems.
