About this game
Sink’em gives the familiar hangman word puzzle a small animated scene. A man sits in a boat while you try to discover the hidden word one letter at a time. Correct letters reveal part of the answer; an incorrect guess lowers the boat further into the water. The passenger reacts to your choices, and sharks circle below.
At startup, answer Y to read the directions or N to go straight to a word. During play, type letters from A to Z. Letters already chosen disappear from the alphabet at the top, so you can see what you have tried. The original directions give you eight incorrect guesses before the boat sinks.
The lower-left menu uses 1 to quit, 2 for a new game and 3 to toggle sound. Some animated reactions take a moment; wait for them to finish before entering the next letter. This is William Soleau’s 1990 version 1.01 shareware release with its original word file, not the larger registered collection. Words and character dialogue remain in English, even when the surrounding website is in Chinese.

Quick tips

Check the alphabet before repeating a letter. Start with a few common letters, then use the revealed pattern to narrow the word.
Wait for the passenger’s reaction before the next guess. Use 2 for another word, 3 to toggle sound and 1 to quit.
